The Graduate Program in the Department of Art and Art History offers both the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees with a concentration in Ancient Art and Archaeology. The curriculum associated with the Center for the Study of Ancient Italy focuses on the art and architecture of the ancient Italian peninsula and islands, with particular focus on Etruria, Rome, the Bay of Naples, and Magna Graecia. Students may augment their coursework with classes taught in the Classics Department.
Recent graduates in the ancient program have held positions at the College of Charleston, the Getty Foundation, Montana State University, Rhodes College, Rice University, Southern Methodist University, Trinity University, Tufts University, the University of Delaware, the University of Florida, the University of Michigan, Yale University as well as the University of Texas at Austin.
